While at Qualcomm Ventures, Gareth has helped define the investment thesis around unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and robotics, and led investments in companies such as 3D Robotics and Spire. Gareth started his professional career as an engineer, and spent many years in engineering roles before turning to the darkside. Currently, he serves on the board of various companies, including August Home, EyeSee360, 3D Robotics, LIFX, and Skycatch. In addition, Gareth is a Kauffman Fellow. We are so excited to have him on stage at the Pioneer Summit!

Prior to Qualcomm Ventures, Gareth worked on corporate development at Texas Instruments and National Semiconductor. He has also worked on methodologies and design flows as an engineer and manager at PMC-Sierra and has developed semiconductor design tools for Cadence.

Gareth holds a Ph.D. in eectronic engineering from Queen’s University of Belfast and a Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Ireland. He is also an MBA candidate at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
