John Donahoe is the chairman of the board at Paypal and the former CEO of eBay. We are thrilled to have him take the stage at Pioneer Summit to talk not only about building and running multi-billion dollar companies, but also how to balance those roles with a fulfilling life outside of work.
John began his career at Bain & Company, where he started as an associate and ultimately became president and CEO. After 20 years at Bain, he was hired as the president of eBay marketplaces. In 2008, John became the president and CEO of eBay. During his tenure, eBay’s revenues more than doubled to $18B and market value increased over 250% to $80B.
Following the split between eBay and PayPal, John is taking some time off. Throughout his career, John has made his family a priority and urged others to do the same. “It’s going to be healthy to take a little time and decompress,” he told The Huffington Post. “I honestly have no idea what I’m going to do next.”
Well, we know what he’ll be doing in mid-September–keynoting at the Pioneer Summit!
