Jonathan Mariner will likely be the only speaker at the 2016 GSV Pioneer Summit with a World Series ring. He earned it while working for the Florida Marlins in 1997, before he took the role as CFO and then chief investment officer, for Major League Baseball. His last day with the MLB is May 31, 2016, and we’re excited to hear about his next pursuit at the Pioneer Summit in the fall.
Before joining MLB, Mariner served as executive vice president and CFO of the Florida Marlins. He also served the franchise as president of the Marlins Ballpark Development Corporation, which worked on a new ballpark proposal in South Florida. Immediately before joining MLB, Mariner served as executive vice president and COO of Charter Schools USA, one of the nation’s leading charter school development and management companies.
Mariner has an MBA from Harvard Business School and a B.S. degree in accounting from the University of Virginia.
