Vivian runs education venture investments for the Chan Zuckerberg Education Initiative. In its commitment to unlock human potential and promote equality, CZI invests in innovative companies that are transforming education across the lifelong learning spectrum globally through entrepreneurship and technology, while building scalable, sustainable businesses. Vivian has led CZI’s investments in such companies as Andela, where she serves on the board, as well as AltSchool, Bridge International Academies, Ellevation Education, Newsela, MasteryConnect and Volley Labs.
She has over 19 years of experience in venture capital and private equity. Most recently, she ran private investments for a family office. Previously, she led investments in growth technology companies at TA Associates, a $23 billion global private equity firm. Prior to TA, she worked at Accel Partners and Morgan Stanley Capital Partners Asia, and started her career at McKinsey & Company.
She holds an MBA from Harvard University, and graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.S.Econ in finance (Wharton) and a B.A. in history, summa cum laude, Beta Gamma Sigma, Phi Beta Kappa. Vivian also serves on the board of several non profits, including Full Circle Fund, Caliber Schools, and the Harvard Business School Alumni Board.
